It’s bluer than blue, and we’re not sadder than sad to backtrack about 150 miles… because this gorgeous view unfolded before us whilst cruising along the Pacific Coast. How did we get here? We were on Highway 1 to San Francisco from Los Angeles and found out that part of it was closed when we passed Cambria. Our turning point, Ragged Point Inn in San Simeon, has a backdrop that will make you step on the brakes!

wow, ganda ng view!
gandameet! I can stare at it for hours while holding hands with special someone and picnic over liempo and San Mig beer.
Wow! i need a cup of good brew while watching sunrise or waiting for sunset here!
super nice. haven’t traveled long distance from LA to San Francisco. After seeing this I’m thinking f trying it next when I am in the US for the whole month.thanks for posting!
My jaw literally dropped, Jerome!
You’ll see more of these beaches soonish 🙂
Marky, liempo talaga? Haha! Shucks, craving for it now 🙁
Tita Liliram, fortunately the sun sets on this coast. Would be nice to witness it!
Yeah Mheanne, cruise by Highway 1. Great views from the cliffs!
Claire, hopefully we could find time to see most of the beaches. Hihi.
i can feel the wind on my face just staring at it..
🙂
so lovely! i wanna go there now na! hahaha
HappySole, it was REALLY windy. Haha!
And I so wanna go back, Karen 🙂
Isn’t the views at Highway 1 spectacular? I usually take Interstate 5 to drive to SFO but when I am not in a hurry, I take Highway 1 and I often camped along the way just for the kick.
Spectacular indeed! Made me step out of the vehicle even if I was so cold, even if baby was so cold!
this brings back memories!
we’ve been on a roadtrip from LA to San Francisco and back via Fresno, Yosemite & Sequioia Parks. the view from santa monica, santa barbara, malibu, carmel & monterey were just remarkable!
Gasp! You went to Yosemite, Doc Gelo? So jealous! We didn’t have the time, and we find the climate too cold for hiking 🙁
This is breathtaking! 🙂
Indeed Roman, wish we stayed longer 🙁
taob ang blue waves ng Ilocos. I can stay in this place and go on for hours simply looking at the view. ganda.
Bluer than blue. Unlike with the song, you will feel sad. But with this picture, you will feel so alive. Galing…..:-).
Me too, Anton! Lamig lang that time 🙁
Kuya Bonz, it will definitely drive anyone’s blues away…
Is this the Big Sur? Its a wonderful drive in this stretch, so long as you’re not the one driving. 🙂 Cliffs and the crashing ocean are always a dramatic combo. I go for this more than a tranquil beach.
Unfortunately, we didn’t reach the Big Sur. Past Ragged Point me thinks is the southernmost part of it.
ganda ng view! sarap siguro tumambay dyan maghapon 🙂
Very purty sight. 🙂
beautiful view Gay! reminds me so much of Palaui and Calaguas.
huwaw
Thanks Dong! I wanna go to Palaui!!!
wow, beautiful-breathtaking-blue shot!
The blueness calms me every time I look at this photo, Ian 🙂
Breathtaking nga! Nakakalula tignan!
hi nice shot you have… what camera do you use???? and lens?? thanks
Hi Maiyee, I use Nikon D40. Only used the kit lens here 🙂
great view! I really wouldn’t mind staring at it for hours.. Que se hodang gabihin ako sa daan. Inggit much. Now I’m really eager na to learn how to drive. =)
Hahaha! Ganda siguro sa gabi kapag full moon!
my jaw just dropped. =D
Napaka-gandang view.. Sarap tumambay at silayan lang ang kagandahan ng lugar.. Pwede kayang mag-picnic dyan.. hehe..
I can attest to the beauty of this! my boyfriend is from san francisco and we just took a random road trip this may and drove through highway 1. too bad it was closed right after Big Sur. We ended up going all the way back to Carmel then drove to LA. it was definitely worth it though just to see the spectacular view!
@marky: same here brad. i wish i could jump off from those cliffs.
