Oh how crestfallen these geek parents were when we learned about Intel Museum’s temporary closure due to renovation during our visit in May of last year. It was our first time to step foot on San Francisco Bay Area’s famed Silicon Valley and aside from the hubby’s job interview, we only got our eyes set on this museum. The few other tourist attractions in Santa Clara seemed meh (I reckon I’lI prove myself wrong in the future) for us.
The Gods of Microprocessors must have been considerate to us folks, for we were able to revisit Silicon Valley just six months after (U.S.A.’s the second country on our round-the-world trip itinerary). By then the Intel Museum has reopened, and the hubby was already employed by the company who invited him for an interview.
All the nerd universe conspired in helping us achieve our dream. Now witness our geek out…
Intel Museum is open Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Walk in request for a guided tour is accommodated. Admission is free. Hurrah! Museum store sells awesome merchandise.
love it.. chance in a lifetime
This is one educational and fun-filled tour on intel. It sums up the rich history of the Company.
Been using my HP laptop with Intel i7 inside… A visit to the Intel museum is the techies number 1 in the wishlist….
I’ve only been to National Museum! LOL. You were indeed lucky that the nerd universe conspired and you got to visit the museum! Love love love the photos! <3
Thanks Kaiz! Ooh… Gotta revisit National Museum. Visited it first and only time when I was in high school, me thinks.
Wow the nerd in you!!!! Educational tong trip nato ah. and i love the epost card thingy 😀 prang ang cute lng no.
Shugah, I enjoyed making the epostcard. Medyo dyahe lang yung mga nanonood, waiting for their turn. Lol.
parang naalala ko ang floppy disk ng 386 at 486 machines na ginagamit ko nung highschool nung nakita ko ang ancient IBM PC… 😀
OMG! Floppy disk! Hihi, ol’ skul. I remember noong uhm, college, puro pink color ng diskettes ko 🙂
Yeah! I remember a PC like this back in college that helps me out in preparing my thesis using the Wordstar program.
A very nice place to work at. Congrats to the hubby.
Gigi, Wordstarrr! I miss 🙂
OMY GAY NAKAKAINIS KA!!! Ang cool ng museum!!! #Geekmuch
Hahaha! I LOVE YOU TOO Renzy :))
Thank Gods of Microprocessors and the nerd universe! Holy Intel, mother of microchips! This is so coolness, especially the digi-rain. I wanna be digi-drenched too! But what are those white ninjas doing there?
It must have been a great experience, especially to Luna. Personally, to grow up in this modern world with all this gadgets and all makes me a bit sad. I am born in the 90’s and was a teenager after millenum I didn’t exactly enjoy the fun my older siblings experienced when they were younger. No computers, no phones, no smartphones, just plain old school fun on the streets and knowledge straight from old books in the library where you can spend hours procrastinating. Oh and the typewriters! Hah. Can’t live without my gadgets and it is sad.
The displays are surely huge as huge as the name Intel means today 🙂
AJ, the bunny suit’s used by Intel workers in the lab. Tourists get to wear for photos, if interested.
EvanKristine, awww… I was able to experience that! And how fun it was, and still is, to be out on the streets with friends.
Wow! This make me wanna visit a science museum nearby… hmmm google map… oh, yeah! there’s one in Taguig hehehe I lovve the last photo! 😀
Now I know how the suit is called…nice to know the term.
I just loved how Luna is being so techy as she is already and i love the photo where u had her sit on the logo of Intel.
Was it Sherwin who is wearing the bunny suit Luna tries to reveal? hahha
It’s nice how Intel does not ask for museum entrance fee. It goes to show how Intel’s really interested to share its roots to its supporters. 🙂
Doc Wends, haha! Yep. That’s bubba.
Cool! My hubby would love this place.
waah this is heaven for geeks! hehehe
this is every geek’s dream! 🙂
This is one great opportunity we shouldn’t miss. good thing the no entrance fee. 🙂
Super duper cool! I’m turning green in jealousy here!
thats so cool! i mean ver ygeeky! and your very lucky sweetie! xx
Looks like a burqa in the headshot. :))
Yup, it does look like a burqa!
I missed wearing a bunny suit when I used to work at Technopark in Biñan.
That experience is really once in a lifetime. I hope they do plan to put up a museum here in the Philippines. ^_^
astig ng museum na to. 🙂
Technology really came a long way already and there is no way of stopping it to find more advancements.
ayos tp ah.. sanan may ganyan din dito sa pinas..
